DISRUPT! School Administration might be the most important 60 minutes of this conference.

DISRUPT! School Administration maximizes its time by presenting proven leadership models and strategies that are currently being successfully employed in a Massachusetts middle and high school. Our goal is simple: Given ten different strategies that can be easily implemented upon return to school, DISRUPT! School Admin challenges building leaders to commit to ONE. Principals will walk out with an action plan, QR-coded resources, and most importantly, the inspiration to try something new in their building, ultimately DISRUPTING complacency in school leadership. The rapid-fire format of DISRUPT! School Admin provides leaders with tools to strengthen their school culture, making educators think differently about leading in their community. School cultures begin to flat-line and devolve when building leaders no longer take risks. Objective: Disrupt complacency in school leaders by presenting them with TEN different models that two Massachusetts secondary administrators have incorporated into their buildings and have helped to transform its culture. Presented with ten different paradigms to strengthen culture, DISRUPT! School Admin hopes leaders will choose one to implement when they return to school.

Action Plan: Using the moniker "teach us something, but make it quick," each proven strategy will empower school leaders to try something different, that even the smallest positive paradigm shift can strengthen school culture. Each idea will have a corresponding QR code so that attendees will have resources to put their chosen inspiration into action upon return to school. After a brief introduction to the session's revolutionary format, we will facilitate one best practice every five minutes that has changed school culture in different Massachusetts communities. During each five-minute pitch, slides automatically change every 15 seconds to help maintain a staccato momentum. The session's format also allows for questions and comments from the audience at the session's end. Because topics and presentation styles may change each five minutes, engagement potential is maximized using this progressive professional development format.
